SCMA is an NGO/Charity with 37 years of existence, providing services daily to 5800 Persons. The Organisation emerges from a multi-challenged territorial context, as a first and second-line anchor, with the purpose of at one time mitigate the biopsychosocial vulnerabilities of the Population and of the Community; and, complementarily, promoting the capacity building, through methodologies, tools and strategies that faster accelerate the processes of empowerment of the end-users, respecting, all the time, their expectations, needs and limits. SCMA bases its Services on a workforce of 530 employees, in 4 main areas: Social Care; Ageing; Health Care; Education.

“At SCMA we daily provide care and healthcare to 600 older adults across 3 nursing homes, 2-day care centers and 4 home care support services. As such, the mitigation of natural catastrophes and health crises such as the impact of heat/cold waves on older adults and pandemics is very critical. Our vision for Dynamo is that it will allows us for a more accurate and coordinated planning process involving all the relevant stakeholders in Amadora region from care and healthcare areas to civil protection, to better respond in a faster and more informed, synchronized and systematized way to those societal emergencies. Dynamo’s approach fits perfectly our Integrated and Person-Centered Care Model by introducing the arm of the Management of natural catastrophes and health crisis.”
